The Superfuzz (,initially called themselves 'The Superfuzz Bigmuff' when they first started out. After winning competition after competition like CAMPUS ROCK iDOLS in 2005 and more, they truncated their name to 'The Superfuzz'. Probably for simplicity reasons. They've garnered impressive praise from their many gigs and have a strong fan-following for their punk and more groovier original compositions.)have won the second season of Channel [v] Launchpad on 7th of july, after two months of elimination rounds that took place every weekend at Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai.
The band will be playing very soon at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.
Band Members:Aditya - drums, Sanchal Malhar - guitar/voice, Nikhil Rufus - bass
Band Genre:GRUNGE Metal
Band Myspace profile:http://www.myspace.com/thesuperfuzzmusic
The bands that made it to the final four were:
Cyanide
Frequency
The Superfuzz
Bhayanak Maut
The band however feels that Bhayanak Maut from Mumbai deserved to win. “It was not a great show. The channel people kept us there for two days and the heat was killing; we could have performed better. Besides we feel Bhayanak did a better job and deserved to win,” says Superfuzz bassist Nikhil Rufus.
Bhayanak Maut won a cash prize of two lakhs and one of the judges Gino Banks says, “It was a tough call. Bhayanak Maut performed really well and if we had a choice we would have sent both the bands to New York. But Bhayanak is more metal and we thought Superfuzz’s sound would appeal to the common listeners there.”
Last time around, LAUNCHPAD brought us the 5 best bands in India, who went on to become true 'rockstars' - Zero, Pin Drop Violence, Zephyr, Them Clones and Helga's Funk Castle.
